Comment:

 No, this is not the case. Simulations contain the executable, but restarts
 use the simulation's executable, they don't have their own hard link. This
 poses a problem if someone wants to change the executable "under the
 hood"; since this change then influences the whole simulations, there is
 then no way to recover the executable used for a particular restart.
