after recovery -- moving CarpetIOASCIIInit from basegrid to initial may
help.
I think this is the source of the problem. If it was working correctly I
wouldn't have ever seen
this "error" since I wouldn't have ever set something like "out_every =
1000" so Carpet would have never
needed to adjust its output to a non-empty one...
