 That is what I meant: the autoconf string changes much more often than for
 other OSs because for some reason (which?) the version is included, which
 is not the case for some of the other OSs. We apparently don't care about
 the version; we treat all the same anyway. Could we apply some magic that
 would remove the version number for darwin so that 46 and growing
 identical files could be removed?
