Comment (by hinder):

 I don't think this is limited to the case where you sync from another
 machine. Or does GetComponents understand to check out commented out
 thorns in the thornlist by querying the simfactory MDB?  Seems unlikely,
 and that this would be a problem even if you checked out on the remote
 machine using GetComponents.
