 It's been a week since Frank send out the email. Not objections were
 voiced. I'd say lets remove poly_gamma_ini.

 The email did not mention removing the conversion so there we should check
 if there is any possible way that this conversion is visible to the user
 and if not, I would prefer to remove it as well.
