Comment (by hinder):

 We talked about moving this functionality into CoordBase once Llama was
 publicly available, which it now is.  Rather than introducing an
 additional thorn, we could do this.

 Note that Kranc-generated thorns determine dynamically at runtime whether
 Llama is available, and hence are not affected by this issue.
