 The way Piraha currently does things is that it asks Cactus for the value
 of the parameter, which presumably comes from some default. That doesn't
 prevent you from setting it a new value later and using that.

 The attached patch will flag an error if a variable is written after it's
 read. That might give you part of what you're looking for.
