 Which machines are these?

 The behaviour we are discussing will not affect any machines where we use
 a special option list, i.e. none of the typical HPC systems will be
 affected by this choice. For generic Ubuntu systems, we can add Atlas or
 OpenBLAS to the list of packages that need to be installed before building
 Cactus.

 Where do you keep the "many Cactus trees"?

 Or are you describing builds that do not use Simfactory?
