Comment (by knarf):

 One of four points done then. If someone else than me agrees that this new
 parameter could go into IOUtil even before the release, and that the
 default could be made conservative (until after the release), these two
 could be "down" too. And if we don't hear of any objection to "-" we can
 do that too, but this has still some time.
