 This description is unclear.

 HDF5_INC_DIRS is a configuration variable to be set by the user, and is
 examined by the thorn to find out where an existing HDF5 library is
 installed. What do you mean by "setting" it in the thorn?

 Also, the build.sh script cannot set anything; only the detection script
 talks to Cactus.
