 Compiler behaviour is not OS-dependent -- this is probably triggered by a
 combination of compiler version, compiler flags, and CPU capabilities. I
 argue against remove -ffast-math from the options; instead, we should
 either have suitably stable tests, or sufficiently large tolerances.
