 Given the commit message, it looks like this was the commit which
 implemented #1725 (Disable Fortran 77 support in Cactus).  That ticket
 contained a proposal to remove the support, and was placed in the review
 state, but there was no code to review.  It looks like the code was
 committed anyway in
 https://bitbucket.org/cactuscode/cactus/commits/e8f2db41cd59986b256d282c57557daed035d4b6,
 without having been reviewed (not that I'm claiming a review would have
 seen the problem, but it would have made it a bit more likely...).
