 It might be convenient to have "current" branches in each ET repository to
 point to the latest release.  This way, download instructions will not
 need to be updated whenever there is a new release (see #1103).  In some
 situations, it is important which release is referred to. In others, it is
 not.  The branch would be repointed (this would not be a fast-forward) at
 each release.  I don't know how this would work for subversion
 repositories.
