An update on this:  
CarpetX \(main branch\) CPU without subcycling → still consumes a lot of memory and the performance keeps being slow 

CarpetX \(liwei’s branch\) CPU with subcycling → I keep getting out of memory errors so I still haven’t gotten the chance to check its performance
