<p>gcc 4.8.5 (even if old) seems to support C++11 (<a data-is-external-link="true" href="https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/cxx0x_status.html" rel="nofollow">https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.8/cxx0x_status.html</a>) so I will try and see if I can automate setting <code>HAVE_CCTK_F_TYPE_STAR</code> to 0 in the <code>master</code> branch (though it is unlikely to be ported back to the release branch, since testing on released versions takes too long).</p>
