<p>If you want to try if the overhead is an issue (you cannot really avoid <code>CCTKi_VarDataPtrI</code> but, other than the <code>CCTK_HasAcccess</code> call that function is basically a <code>cctkGH->data[varindex][tl]</code>) and you would have to comment out the <code>CCTK_HasAccess</code> call in <code>src/main/GroupsOnGH.c</code>.</p>
