<p>Just a quick comment: I recently did some extensive benchmarking of Einstein Toolkit and found that for my applications the function <code>CCTKi_VatDataPtrI</code> was taking up to 21.7 % of the entire simulation time!</p>
<p>So, this change could lead to a noticeable speed up.</p>
