[Users] Keeping example parameter files up to date

While we are testing the test cases before the release, it occurs to
me that we should also keep the example parameter files up to date. I
have no good idea for doing so, but e.g. trying to start a Cactus run
and seeing whether it passes parameter checking could be a first step.
