Dear all,

October has already been packed with many exciting news for our
community. I now add with great joy to the list: Gabrielle Allen,
Professor of Astronomy at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign
and Cactus veteran, has been elected a 2017 Fellow of the American
Physical Society

"for international leadership in development of widely used simulation
frameworks for numerical relativity, relativistic astrophysics, and
other areas, laying a foundation for many groups to address complex
problems in multi-messenger astronomy.”

Anyone familiar with Gabrielle’s tireless commitment to large-scale code
infrastructures as well as to collaborative science, including the very
foundation of the Einstein Toolkit, knows just how well deserved this
accolade is.
