I would like to draw your attention to this open position in my team:

Postdoc / scientific software developer for the ERC project DEMOBLACK
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We invite applications for a postdoctoral/ scientific software developer
position funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant DEMOBLACK led by Dr. Michela
Mapelli. The DEMOBLACK team will investigate the formation channels of
merging stellar black hole binaries in the field and in star clusters, by
means of population synthesis and dynamical simulations.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance
of our population-synthesis code SEVN (written in C++) and to the
development of software for direct N-body simulations. We are looking for
applicants with excellent knowledge of C++ and python. Experience with GPU
programming (CUDA or OpenCL) and parallel programming will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will join an active research team, working in the
vibrant research environment of the University of Padova and of the
Astronomical Observatory of Padova. Enquiries about the scientific project

The earliest possible starting date is December 2018, but later dates are
also possible. Applicants must have a Master's degree in Computer Science,
Astrophysics, Physics or related disciplines. The appointment is for 2
years, with a possible extension up to 5 years depending on performance.
Gross salaries range approximately from 28000 to 40000 EUR/year, depending
on experience, more than adequate for local costs of living.

Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, sample of one of
their codes (up to 500 lines), complete list of publications, and arrange
