Ubuntu 16.04 should be find as we use that version as the base of our
tutorial server.

Have you tried the 

!rm -r ~/Cactus/configs/sim

line as well? It may be that after the first failed attempt, the build
is now in a strange state.

Would you mind if I fowarded these emails to the mailing list as well
so that others now when / if the issue has been resolved?
