Hi,

I have checked and installed (reinstalled) openmpi-dev with no changes to debian.cfg. Sorry for the noise. The thing builds and runs the static_tov test, so I think I've recovered from whatever was getting in the way. Thanks for help. By the way mpic++ is present and mpic++ --showme points to stuff that are in fact installed.

Comer

PS: I sort of like the debian jessie VM on my mac. It's pretty easy to go between debian and macosx and rsync is a pretty easy way to pass stuff between the two. The only problem i have is that I do not own Mathematica on the Paralles side :).

On Fri, Aug 7, 2015 at 2:55 PM, Comer Duncan <comer.duncan@gmail.com> wrote:

Here is what I have installed: perl gfortran g++ libopenmpi-dev openmpi-bin make libfftw3-dev libgsl0-dev libatlas-base-dev libjpeg-dev libssl-dev libhdf5-serial-dev hdf5-tools along with the rest of the stuff in debian.cfg. Can you please send the complete build log? I am especially interested
in the configure stage of the MPI thorn. It should have found the system
MPI libraries. I did try the last release on a clean Jessie VM a while
back, with only minimal packages installed, and that worked, if I recall
correctly.
Also, please send what the following commands return:
which mpic++
mpic++ --showme
