<p>I used parameter file in ~/<span>Cactus/par. It seems this parameter is only used for the first run instead of restarting. And yes, I am using simfactory. I follow your steps to <span>edit the parameter file in <simulation>/SIMFACTORY/par and </span> successfully
recover my simulation.</span></p>

and want to finish the simulation by parts .That is , I would like to recover the simulation from checkpoints. However I fail to continue my simulation. There are two cases that I met:</div>

So I want to continue my simulation from time=2500. But after I changed to <span style="font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif, Helvetica, EmojiFont, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", NotoColorEmoji, "Segoe UI Symbol", "Android Emoji", EmojiSymbols; font-size: 16px;" class="">cctk_final_time=8000
in parameter file , the simulation still stops at time=2500, which means it stops just after it begins. have test the same simulation as above but with wall_time=10 min. I have checkpoint_every=150 ,and checkpoint_on_terminate= "yes" in the parameter file. However after it finishes with the final iteration=250, the checkpoint file is not produced. Only the initial

<div>Which parameter file are you editing? If it is the one INSIDE the simulation output directory, then this will not work, because this is never read, only written. Are you using simfactory? If so, then I usually just edit the parameter file in <simulation>/SIMFACTORY/par
then submit the next segment.</div>
