Recent years have seen a growing
investment in computational
research fields such as
artificial intelligence, high
performance computing, data
science, biotech, physics
simulators, and many others.
This rapid expansion created a
demand for specialized experts
capable of maintaining and

computational software
infrastructure. In response, the
role of <strong>Research
Software Engineer </strong>(RSE)
has emerged as a distinct and
increasingly important career
path.<br>

A research software engineer
combines strong software
engineering skills with an
understanding of research
workflows. RSEs build, maintain,
and optimize software that
enables scientific discovery,
data analysis, simulations,
machine learning workflows, and
other computational research
tasks. They often work in
academia, national labs,
