Comment (by hinder):

 SystemStatistics was originally intended to report information on the
 environment that Cactus was running in; I expected Carpet to output its
 own memory statistics, or rather to make them available in a grid variable
 so that they can be output by the usual mechanism.  What is the logic
 behind transferring the data to SystemStatistics to store?  Why not just
 have a Carpet grid variable which can be output by the user?
