 The problem is purely the compiler. Yes, using gcc should work, except (of
 course) on Blue Gene or Intel MIC or other systems that essentially cross-
 compile.

 I was thinking of using the Bash syntax "<(some perl command here)" to
 pipe the output into the compiler.
