 Roland: In this case, please add a sixth case to my list above that can
 then be the default. Then let's find good names for all of these. Then
 people can set MPI to any of these cases (or do nothing to get the
 default), and thorn MPI will then act accordingly. User options that are
 set, but are always ignored for the particular choice would be errors.
