Comment (by hinder):

 Are you sure?  This all happens at the thorn configuration stage.  Isn't
 this independent of the Cactus configuration stage?  A change to the
 thornlist already requires that the CST and the thorn configuration
 scripts be rerun.  How would my proposed scheme be any different?
