 We still require some solution for this. M_PI may not be so annoying since
 it is at least a compile time failure. However (see the Cactus mailing
 list), we also require strdup() which does compile (and is implicitly
 defined to return int) even when the proper prototype is missing, which
 then leads to run time failures (segfault, funny strings, but not all the
 time).
