 It would also be good to have a function to see whether the POSTRESTRICT
 bin will be executed for the current level at the current iteration.
 Certain calculations are necessary in POSTRESTRICT, and could be skipped
 in the earlier POSTSTEP if POSTRESTRICT will be executed.

 An example would be calculating a pointwise analysis quantity.
