There are actually projects using both in combination, as they are
really concentrating on different things. They sound like a good idea,
but of course it's them talking about themselves:
"Liquid can be very frustrating to work with so JB does the job for
you." (Liquid is the template language used by Jekyll, JB is short for
JekyllBootstrap - the example I use here - just an example, no
endorsement or anything.)
Jekyll would focus on off-site building, while BootStrap would handle
visuals and responsiveness.
