[Users] Error when compiling Einstein Toolkit

When compiling on my laptop which runs Ubuntu 16.04  I get the following 
errors:

make[1]: *** 
[/home/mattia/Cactus/configs/sim/config-data/make.thornlist] Errore 1
Makefile:256: set di istruzioni per l'obiettivo "sim" non riuscito
make: *** [sim] Errore 2

the second line says  something like: th set of instruction for the 
objective "sim"  has not succeded

What does it mean?
