AI use in CarpetX development -----------------------------
* Jay suggested having an AI policy document for CarpetX and / or the Einstein Toolkit * we had a discussion about what other projects are doing ** https://docs.kernel.org/process/coding-assistants.html ** https://forge.rust-lang.org/policies/llm-usage.html ** https://github.com/jaykalinani/nuX/wiki/Bug_report ** https://github.com/sxs-collaboration/spectre/blob/develop/AGENTS.md ** https://ziglang.org/code-of-conduct/ * connected to seminars on use of AI (https://groups.google.com/g/ai-for-nr) * will pick this up in 2 weeks (Oct 12th) for longer discussion
Updates -------
* Noora reported on on CCE runs done using CarpetX, will report in detail in the future * Jay is incorporating bug reports by Jay into NuX, mostly smaller issues but also a couple of equations bugs. I setting up for larger scale physics test run (currently still comparing TOV simulations). Is in contact with THC authors about bugs found in public THC version (some of which may be fixed in the private THC version). * Lucas is working on timestepping pull request for CarpetX, which will introduce full support for timelevels to CarpetX ** also worked on summation by parts code, finding issues on GPUs with CarpetX CI * the CanudaX project is currently preparing for publications, is incorporating Cheng-Hsin's optimizations into main branch
Yours, Roland
