User: bmundim Date: 2011/05/17 12:27 PM Modified: /examples/bbh/ BBHLowRes.par Log: Parameter file used for this first bbh run. Comments: 1) According to Peter and Ian comments, I will have to change the order in WeylScal4::fd_order and maybe increase the angular resolution in Multipole. 2) This parameter file runs smoothly with the ET curie release version. When the ET development version is used, it develops Nans in the AMR boundary closest to Pi symmetry boundary around 10M of evolution for the second finest grid level. [svn:einsteintoolkit] Paper_EinsteinToolkit_2010/examples/bbh/ (Rev. 85)
by bcmsma＠astro.rit.edu 11 May '11

User: bmundim Date: 2011/05/11 10:34 AM Added: /examples/bbh/ BBHLowRes.par Log: Updated BBH parameter file. Main differences, besides reorganization, consist in: 1) reducing the total number of spherical surfaces from 5 to 3. 2) Change the AHFinderDirect interpolator to Hermite polynomial. 3) Add a few parameters to CarpetLib, CarpetInterp and CarpetRegrid2. Issues this parameter file is facing so far: a) Its evolution is stopped with Nans around 8.6M. Nans appear to come from the BSSN fields, but still needs further investigation. b) Either CarpetMask or CarpetReduce don't seem to do their job. CarpetMask uses the AH surfaces to mask their interior. At least it says it does so. However the reduction operations still don't mask out the AH interior, at least when performed by CarpetIOScalar or CarpetIOBasic. c) When CarpetReduce::weight is output, its values seem strange to me. Most of the domain has 1/2 set. A few points close to the boundary 1/4 and the boundaries 0 (physical and ghost). No mask out values inside AH is shown, ie they still are set to 1/2. These values seem to make more sense to AMR restriction operations. d) CarpetIOASCII 1D output is not working for grid arrays as expected for grid functions. The line output for SphericalSurface::sf_radius shows that.
