#961: Add an option for enabling floating point exceptions -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Reporter: hinder | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: Cactus | Version: Keywords: | -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Cactus disables floating point exceptions, so that NaNs and Infs can be generated by numerical code. When debugging, it is sometimes very helpful to use these exceptions, as a debugger will tell you exactly which piece of code generates them.
I propose that Cactus should have a run-time parameter, defaulting to "no", which enables floating point exceptions.

Comment (by eschnett):
Thorn TAT/NaNCatchers does this (for x86 architectures). It is available from https://svn.cactuscode.org/projects/TAT/NaNCatcher.
