I agree. I wasn't suggesting removing the actual HTML files from the website, just removing the ThornGuide make target.
For now, I like your PHP script. Shall we add it to the web page? Once
it has the ET stylesheet applied, it should be good enough I think.
I think that would be a good idea. Attached is a slightly improved version which also include arrangement documentation links and some basic HTML structue.
