#1169: add LAPACK_LIB_DIRS and LAPACK_INC_DIRS option to LAPACK
-----------------------------------+----------------------------------------
Reporter: rhaas | Owner:

the attached patch adds options similar to MPI's options of the same name
to LAPACK. They are useful when using the C interface and requiring access
to the include file since the LAPACK included in mkl (like MPI) has "non-
standard" directory layout. Also historically LAPACK_DIR specifies
/usr/lib whereas eg. HDF5_DIR or GSL_DIR specify /usr . The patch does not
change this later behaviour.

#1119: hdf5toascii_slicer should output variable names in headers

CarpetIOASCII currently puts something like
{{{
# data columns: 13:rho
}}}
into its headers. hdf5toascii_slicer does not. It would be useful if the
relavant code was copied into the slicer (from outputslice.cc).
Particularly useful if one translates a checkpoint file to ASCII to
inspect values in detail.

#1168: simfactory rev 1677 fail to start on lonestar

Reporter: rhaas | Owner: eschnett

It seems as if
{{{

fails with the warning
{{{

after which simfactory fails to continue. My suspicion is that cuda is not
available for OpenMPI (which is the selected MPI stack) and the module
then returns and error and simfactory aborts if the env command does not
succeed.
The output I get is:
{{{

Removing this command from envsetup lets me run. However since I do not
run CUDA (the commit claims OpenCL which also seems wrong), does someone
who uses OpenCL/CUDA on lonestar want to suggest an alternative?

One of the vector tests fail on my laptop with the intel12 compilers.
Erik provided that attached patch that fixed the problem.
Erik has applied the patch to the main branch but it needs to be back
ported to the release branch.

We should add test cases without vectorisation to the Einstein Toolkit. We
should test both configurations that set VECTORISE=no, and thorns that
have been generated via Kranc without vectorisation.

#1157: simfactory option list for Mac OSX

Component: SimFactory | Version:

In the option list for osx-lion-macports-gcc.cfg it says that one should
have installed the following macports: szip, gcc46, fftw, fftw-3, gsl,
openssl, hdf5-18 +gcc46 -universal, zlib, openmpi +gcc46
With these ports installed, the following compiler error occurs:
ld: library not found for -lhdf5hl_fortran
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [/Users/paufigueras/Universitat/Cactus/exe/cactus_testconfig]
Error 1
make: *** [testconfig] Error 2
To fix it, one should install the hdf5 port with the fortran variant. In
other words, in the ports list above one should replace:
hdf5-18 +gcc46 -universal -> hdf5-18 +fortran +gcc46 -universal

but trestles__2_8/output-0000/SIMFACTORY/RunScript only sets -np 1:
${MPICHDIR}/bin/mpirun_rsh -tv -np 1 -hostfile ${MPI_NODEFILE}
/oasis/scratch/trestles/bcmundim/temp_project/simulations/trestles__2_8/SIMFACTORY/exe/cactus_sim
-L 3 ${TESTSUITE_PARFILE}
This may be related to bug #1075.
Thanks!
