Hi,
With the new release out of the way, the mercurial(hg)-version of Carpet will replace the git-version in the development version of the Einstein Toolkit. Write access will be provided as was in the past: using ssh keys. Ask Erik to get access. Anonymous read access is available via the following URL, both to be used for cloning, and for browsing the repository if you so like.
http://www.carpetcode.org/hg/carpet/
We will change the thornlist of the development version of the Einstein toolkit to use the hg version - please be aware of this when you update your configuration.

To be explicit: The command to check out the Mercurial version of Carpet manually from this repository is
hg clone http://www.carpetcode.org/hg/carpet

Hi,
in the hg version of Carpet, "Thorn 'CarpetLib' requires the capability 'Vectors'." Where can I find Vectors?

LSUThorns/Vectors

This thorn should be publically available. We will move it to an proper Einstein Toolkit repository soon.

Hello,
I would like to remove the finest refinement level of a running simulation. I thought of restarting from checkpoint with a decreased value for the CarpetRegrid2 parameters num_levels_?, but they are not steerable.
Is there any way to achieve this?
Cheers,
Luca

The parameters in CarpetRegrid2 are only used at startup. At run time, and after recovering, the corresponding grid scalars are used.
The easiest way to remove a level is to decrease the num_levels grid scalar in CarpetRegrid2, and then to regrid. Any thorn can reduce this grid scalar when it "inherits" from CarpetRegrid2. Checkpointing/recovering is not necessary; however, if you want to do this with a checkpointed simulation, then you can remove a level before the first time step after recovering.
