Improve finite differencing in Exact

The enclosed patch improves the finite differencing that is used in Exact to calculate the extrinsic curvature. These finite differences are independent of the Cactus grid spacing. This is prompted by a remark by Peter Diener that the current finite differencing accuracy for the extrinsic curvature from thorn Exact is only about nine digits. It introduces new parameters "exact_order" and "exact_eps" that choose the order (2nd or 4th) and stencil size (default 1e-6). It also introduces new functions Exact__metric_deriv and Exact__metric_deriv2 that evaluate these finite differences. Some finite differencing terms for the spatial derivative of the shift have to be rewritten, which may lead to differences on the order of the finite differencing accuracy. The code could be rewritten to evaluate each stencil point only once in all calls to the new finite differencing operators. This would reduce the number of evaluations. Since thorn Exact is often very fast, this does not seem necessary at this point. New parallel HDF5 API proposed

The HDF5 groups is apparently contemplating adding a new high-level API for "HPC HDF5", based on parallel HDF5. I find the idea intriguing, as it would move much code that we have currently written in Carpet (and that we will have to write to address the "slow recovery" issue) into HDF5. Upper-face reflection in ReflectionSymmetry.

Hello! It's unlikely that this will affect anyone, but I've found some incorrect behavior in the treatment of *upper-face* symmetries in ReflectionSymmetry. I propose the attached patch. In brief, since the loop runs over the "source" points in descending order and the "destination" points in ascending order, then the index offset between the two sets should just be 2 (or 1 if one is staggering the origin), rather than twice the ghost size as in the lower-face case. The change affects branches that are only executed upon reflection_upper_*, so most people won't see a difference. Any input? Eloisa

Eric I reverted your last two commits, since the new thorn list didn't work for me. It created a file GetComponents in the main Cactus directory pointing to ../repos, which is the wrong path. Checking out Cactus is a crucial step; once this is broken, everybody will have to update manually (since GetComponents doesn't work any more and will have been deleted!). Updated several SimFactory mdb entries and ExternalThorns

I built the Einstein Toolkit thorns on a series of machines with different operating systems, including many TeraGrid, LONI, and DOE systems. For this I had to correct or update several SimFactory entries as well as build scripts in ExternalThorns. I have just committed these changes in the hope that these help portability. Please report any problems you may encounter. For the record: I tested on abe, bethe, bluedawg, bd, bp, carver, damiana, ducky, eric, franklin, hopper, kraken, lacumba, lincoln, lonestar, louie, neptune, numrel02, numrel05, numrel06, numrel07, numrel09, oliver, painter, pelican, philip, poseidon, queenbee, ranger, redshift, surveyor, tezpur, vip, and zeke. GetComponents stored username cannot be changed

Hi, GetComponents, the tool used to download the Einstein Toolkit, prompts for the username for each repository when not doing an anonymous checkout. If I type this username incorrectly, it seems to be impossible to correct it. It keeps asking for the password without giving the option to change the username. This happens even when rerunning GetComponents. 1. Is it possible to modify GetComponents to ask for both the username and the password when the login fails, instead of just the password as is currently done? 2. Where are the login credentials stored? Is it all handled by SVN? i.e. (on Linux), the credentials are stored in $HOME/.subversion/ auth?
