This evening I am unable to add attachments to any tickets. After
selecting the attachment file, clicking on the button to actually upload
it leads to the error message below. This has happened before, but in
those cases the attachment was added successfully despite the error
message. In this case, no attachment appears. I have tried several
times, and none of them worked.

Sometimes a ticket is created with a patch already available for review.
Currently, it is necessary to first create the ticket with the attachment,
then edit the created ticket and change its status to "review". This
leads to two separate email notifications. If possible, the system should
be changed to allow the ticket to be created already in the "review"
state.

For a new FAQ:
Q: I get errors like "/usr/include/H5Dpublic.h:145: error: too many
arguments to function ‘hid_t H5Dopen1(hid_t, const char*)’"
A: The HDF5 library you use is either version 1.6 or defaults to it. If it
is version 1.6.x, update to 1.8.x. If it is 1.8.x and it defaults to the
1.6 API version, you might be out of luck, especially on Debian Squeeze
systems, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=537414. What
you can then do is to remove (comment) out the macro H5_USE_16_API_DEFAULT
in /usr/include/H5pubconf.h. This isn't pretty, but is really a bug in the
package and has to be fixed there. There is no way to switch to the new
API on those systems, other than specifying the API version of each symbol
separately, which would be even messier.

Six testsuites fail on one cpu inside the VM currently:
CarpetWaveToyNewRecover_test_1proc (from CarpetIOHDF5)
CarpetWaveToyRecover_test_1proc (from CarpetIOHDF5)
Schwarzschild_EF (from Exact)
test_axibrill_nostagger (from IDAxiBrillBH)
regression_test (from SphericalHarmonicRecon)
arrays (from TestArrays)
This is not necessarily a defect of the VM (but might), and should be
fixed for the 2012 spring workshop if simple.

#576: Einstein toolkit installation problems

Reporter: Vassilios Mewes | Type: defect
Status: new | Priority: major
Milestone: | Component: Other
Version: ET_2011_05 | Keywords: fortran 77 compilation errors
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
Hello!
I am trying to install the Einstein toolkit. I followed the instructions
on the wiki (improved tutorial for new users)
i am using the following command to build the configuration:
./simfactory/bin/sim build firsttry
--thornlist=manifest/einsteintoolkit.th
--optionlist=/home/vass/.cactus/config
there are compilation errors of F77 sourcefiles, i tried both gfortran and
the older g77 compiler, both give me numerous errors. I am using Ubuntu
11.04 x64...
this is my configuration file (for some reason, cactus won't find gfortran
unless i specify it in the configuration file, which i believe it
should?):
CPP = cpp
FPP = cpp
CC = gcc
CXX = g++
F77 = gfortran
F90 = gfortran
ffppflags= -traditional
MPI=OpenMPI
here are the error messages when trying to build:
above here it is building zlib and HDF5 and so on..i think these are all
build correctly..

as thornlist i am using the einsteintoolkit.th thornlist as downloaded.
the compilation errors are not exclusive to the distortedBHIVP file, when
i comment this file to be build in the thornlist, other files won't be
compiled as well...
might be a system error, as i already had problems downloading the
toolkit, it wouldn't download completely, but left out LocalInterp and
LocalReduce for some strange reason.

#714: TmunuBase: stress_energy_storage should be a restricted parameter

Reporter: bmundim | Owner:
Type: defect | Status: new

Component: EinsteinToolkit thorn | Version:

-----------------------------------+----------------------------------------
Hi,
I was trying to use the stress_energy_storage parameter in TmunuBase to
determine
when to schedule or not a routine calculating the magnetic pressure (and
friends).
If storage is allocated for Tmunu then the magnetic pressure is calculated
in the
same routine. Otherwise, a separate routine would calculate the magnetic
pressure.
Keeping the routines always separate wouldn't be efficient when we do need
the
calculation and storage of Tmunu. Anyway, in order to do so, I needed to
set
stress_energy_storage as a restricted parameter (patch attached) in
TmunuBase.
Is there any reason for keeping this parameter private?
Thanks.
