Error while building einsteintoolkit.th for GW150914
by Sandeep Suresh 01 Mar '25

01 Mar '25

Dear Einsteintoolkit team, I have been looking into the Binary black hole merger GW150914 event catalog. The compilation runs well until 100% and then fails to locate the correct math.h file (The error image is appended). There are different math header files on our workstations are shown below. - /usr/include/c++/11/tr1/math.h - /usr/include/c++/11/math.h - /usr/include/math.h This occurs while compiling ADIOS2, and is probably due to not specifying the correct include paths.I tried to rectify this by specifying a particular compiler before building the file (globally with export, and yet it fails. The make.log and OptionList files are also attached for the same. Could you kindly get back on how to fix this error while building the einsteintoolkit.th file? Thanks a lot for your help in advance! Best, Sandeep

Dear Colleagues, We are excited to announce the conference "Black Holes, Neutron Stars, and Gravitational Waves @ Black Sea," scheduled for June 16-20, 2025, at Varna, Bulgaria, jointly organized by the University of Sofia and the University of Tuebingen. Registration is open at https://indico.global/event/13880/ . The conference aims to highlight and discuss the latest theoretical and observational advancements in the field, and explore future directions. For this purpose, we will bring together gravity researchers from different backgrounds. We are delighted to be hosting a broad range of invited speakers and we aim for a constructive and interactive meeting. Apart from the invited speakers, we will be able to accommodate a limited number of contributed talks. A poster session will also be organized. We look forward to seeing you in Varna! CarpetX Meeting Minutes (02-13-2025)
by Liwei Ji 13 Feb '25

13 Feb '25

Hi all, Here are the minutes from today’s CarpetX Call: Present: Liwei, Roland, Steve, Lucas, Cheng-Hsin, Yosef, Allen, Helvi, Swapnil, Zach, Erik Liwei Optimized the subcycling implementation in CarpetX, acchieving better performance compared to Carpet Roland Working on adding a Z4c test Lucas Tuning the parameter within the hybrid RK integrator to achieve larger CFL factors (7x faster already compared to the traditional RK method) Trying to evolve BBH simulations on Multipatch grids using CanudaX PR on NewRadX is almost ready Cheng-Hsin Successfully compiled CanudaX on Bridges-2, which features V100 GPUs. Next steps include testing and profiling its performance Based on the tests on Delta, CanudaX is slightly faster then Z4c, but still comparable (~1.5 M/h on 1 GPU node, with qc0). Jay Installing Fuka on Frontier to test the optimized subcycling implementation with BNS simulations Swapnil A colleague is interested in porting their nucleosynthesis code to CarpetX Zach BHaHAHA is working with ETK, doing some final performance and accuracy tests Steve Progress on generating BSSN with NRPy+ for CarpetX Erik Investigating an issue where the compiler struggles with accessing grid functions using foo(p.I), particularly when an object file is provided. Regards, Liwei
