Nothing to be done here. * code freeze for the toolkit will be (has been) announced * will release on Thursday * Christian will write a transition guide for EOS_Omni (remind on after Friday) CIGR spring workshop: * MHD ** divergence cleaning issues to be attended * microphysics (?) * refluxing (?) * invite SpEC researchers * multipatch hydro (?) The next ET phone call will be after the APS meeting on May 9th Yours, Roland -- My email is as private as my paper mail. I therefore support encrypting and signing email messages. Release testing

Hi, This is for those running the testsuites for the release. Please do a fresh checkout each time. GetComponents currently isn't handling branch-switching really well / not at all while updating an existing checkout. However, we will switch branches at some point during the release. I just updated the compile_tests script accordingly. Frank

Hello all, > You could add a page to the wiki showing results such as yours. Since we don't use McLachlan at GT we don't really have any tools to process the data and produce a nice website (say like this one http://www.numrel.org/~rhaas3/R1/). Does one of the groups using McLachlan have one and is willing to let me use it (or run it over the data)? Otherwise this might take a while (I am somewhat short on free time right now). Meeting minutes: Present were: Frank, Tanja, Roland, Josh, Peter, Ian, Erik, Bruno, Christian upcoming ET release: * mark SpacetimeExcision as unsupported, will be removed in the next release (no user thorns in the toolkit) * AHF: Peter tracked the issue down to the interpolator used by AHFinderDirect's testsuite. Using Hermite interpolators fixes the 1 vs. 2 processor issues. * create test cases for interpolators (using InterpToArray), see ticket 395 * RotatingSymmety90/180: Intel compilers seem to create faulty code when using OpenMP for the count and icount reduction operations, the counts end up being number_of_threads*total_number_of_points * McLachlan: Ian suspects this to be due to Exact's inexact initial data for Kij, Ian has a thorn to produce exact Kij values using Kranc and Mathematica. Will look into this after next week. Will flag this test as failing in release if not fixable. * we will run test simulations (qc0 [Roland],tov [Frank], bhns [Frank]) to show that the release code can simulate a physical system * we want to include the compiler used in the testsuite output. Ian will submit a ticket. For now we could include the compiler in the machine name, eg. numrel-gcc-4.X, kraken-pgi-X.X ET paper: * all: please work on your section ** simfactory section: Erik will work on it ** ID section: TwoPunctures halfway done (needs more details), more work needed for other sections (Lorene, TOVSolver). Bruno&Josh ** EOS: Christian (will have to wait until next week) ** GRHydro: Christian (will have to wait until next week) ** Relativity Tools: Peter (will have to wait until next week), expand Object tracker section (Frank) ** Roland will expand Domain/Symmetries section with examples and sketches, will add CarpetRegrid(2) description to AMR ** single-spinning-bh example: Peter (will have to wait until next week) * do not describe SpacetimeExcision thorn Yours, Roland -- My email is as private as my paper mail. I'm sorry to insist... can we use SPIRES format for the bibtex keys? We didn't do that in our old thorn list, and as a result we have now many duplicate entries with slightly different keys. -erik > File [modified]: einsteintoolkit.bib > Delta lines: +83 -0 > =================================================================== > --- trunk/einsteintoolkit.bib 2011-03-30 17:16:56 UTC (rev 80) > +++ trunk/einsteintoolkit.bib 2011-04-11 22:20:08 UTC (rev 81) > @@ -62,6 +62,19 @@ > +@Article{Anninos98b, > + key = {Anninos98b}, > + author = {Peter Anninos and Karen Camarda and Joseph Libson and > + Joan Mass{\'o} and E. GetComponent error messages
by Luca Baiotti 04 Apr '11

04 Apr '11

Hello, I have a comment on an error message from GetComponents. After showing the below error message, GetComponents stopped. But maybe a user doesn't want to perform a clean checkout every time such a mismatch occurs. I suggest to change the error message so that it instructs the users to solve the problem (by manually checking out the new repository) and then rerun GetComponents. Even better, GetComponents could do something like renaming the old checkout "thorn" to "thorn.old" and checking out the new repository. > ./GetComponents einsteintoolkit.th Do you want to update all existing components? yes, no [no] : yes Error: The URL for AEIThorns/TensorTypes has changed, please perform a clean checkout. Cheers, Luca
