Hello David,
the WaveMoL examples will do that.
You can run its example parameter file like so:
simfactory/bin/sim create-run gaussian --parfile arrangements/CactusExamples/WaveMoL/par/gaussian.par --procs 1
which will generate output files phi_x_[25][25].xg etc.
You can use gnuplot, matplotlib or pygraph (https://bitbucket.org/dradice/pygraph/src/default/) to display them.
Yours, Roland

Hello Roland,
OK thank you for your answer.
Is there a simple and small example that produces an output file?

Hello David,
the HelloWorld example uses simfactory's "run" command:
./simfactory/bin/sim create-run helloworld \ --parfile arrangements/CactusExamples/HelloWorld/par/HelloWorld.par
which only outputs the log to screen and does not capture it to a file.
Since HelloWorld itself does not contain any data and thus produces no data files either.

Dear users,
I have installed Einstein toolkit and the HelloWorld example ran fine displaying the log output to screen.
But the output is not available in the basedir directory.
Can you tell what is wrong with my installation? You will find in attachment the machine description file.
Best regards, David
