Hi Folks,
I have just downloaded GetCompents from the official einstein toolkit website via the command
wget https://svn.cactuscode.org/Utilities/branches/ET_2011_05/Scripts/GetComponen...
and also via cut & paste
Calling ./GetComponents <thornlilst> gives me the message:
[snip] Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at ./GetComponents line 135. You are using an outdated version of GetComponents. Please use the version from GitHub (https://github.com/gridaphobe/CRL) (if you are using the Einstein Toolkit, the new version should already be in Cactus/bin/GetComponents [snip]
I mean, the website should contain the actual version. If someone is starting with the einstein toolkit, a message as:
"if you are using the Einstein Toolkit, the new version should already be in Cactus/bin/GetComponents"
is really not helpful.
Best wishes
Alexander
Hi Alexander,
where in the website did you get this command? The wiki tutorial for the new users points to the right place:
https://docs.einsteintoolkit.org/et-docs/Tutorial_for_New_Users
wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/gridaphobe/CRL/raw/ET_2011_05/GetComponents chmod 755 GetComponents
Cheers, Bruno.

I have got it from:
http://einsteintoolkit.org/about/
and here at Component Lists and GetComponents. On the main web page of the Einstein Toolkit (einsteintoolkit.org) I am directed to this "about" page by the sentence:
[snip] Please read our pages about the Einstein Toolkit, its governance, and how to get started with the toolkit for more information. [snip]
I am afraid, this is really missleading.
Best wishes

Hi Alexander,
thanks for pointing this out. The correct URL for the ET_2011_05 version of GetComponents is https://github.com/gridaphobe/CRL/raw/ET_2011_05/GetComponents. For now, we're keeping a script in the former path to GetComponents, to point users to the new location $CACTUS_ROOT/bin/GetComponents.
I don't think I have commit rights to the ET website, so can someone fix the offending link on einsteintoolkit.org/about?
