Hi,
On the tutorial page, http://einsteintoolkit.org/info/documentation/tutorial.php The link to "thornlist for the Einstein Toolkit" doesn't work.
Regards, Jian
Thanks Jian. This is fixed.

1.
It seems einsteintoolkit.th from the website doesn't match the one checked out under Cactus/manifest. I got a list of missing thorns when I follow the tutorial page to compile with the einsteintoolkit.th under Cactus/manifest.
2.
In the following section, the config name (sim ?) is missing. -------------------- ... Compile Executable
./simfactory/sim build --thornlist=manifest/einsteintoolkit.th ... --------------------
3.
The LORENE.sh script has trouble to produce local_settings correctly for my system. I took a look and it seems gfortran was not recognized as the default f77 compiler. Anyway, I am not sure if this is a common issue.
Regards, Jian

If you don't specify a config name, it uses a default name of "sim".

Hello Jian,
The LORENE.sh script has trouble to produce local_settings correctly for my system. I took a look and it seems gfortran was not recognized as the default f77 compiler. Anyway, I am not sure if this is a common issue.
I am not sure if this makes it a common issue, but GT ended up adding -ffixed-line-length-none to our F77FLAGS in the Cactus config file (since otherwis LORENE does not compile). Not a fix, but a workaround I guess. I some code ever relied on text beyond colum 78 (or whatever it is) being ignored by FORTRAN77 then we are in trouble.

As for the tutorial for beginners, it seems a beginner will have to do a bit more work than to guarantee a successful compilation. He/she will have to either create a config file for himself and let simfactory know where to find it, or properly export necessary environment variables beforehand.

This is why the tutorial page uses the Queen Bee resource where we can ensure that everything works. We've already been talking with Erik about how we can have a more robust mechanism for users to compile on their own laptop (perhaps by suggesting particular MPI implementations and compilers) since that is still what people will want to do.
Jian, I can't see a difference between the thornlists that you mentioned, do we still have a link wrong somewhere? Can you point out explicitly where the difference is? I've added the revision number of the file in SVN to the thornlist to hopefully make it easier to verify what the version is.
It would be good to add the SVN version number to be embedded as a comment in the thornlist,

Hi Gab,
It has been fixed. It is pointing to the right file now. Several thorns such as those under EinsteinAnalysis were missing when I tried early this morning.

I added this options to SimFactory in the beginning, but unfortunately not all compilers understand this.
The current build file for Lorene in Cactus uses perl to split overly long lines, circumventing the problem.
