how to make the change of the submit script have effect

change the number of nodes on Cori

Hello, I use the nersc machine cori to run the ET simulaiton. I am wondering how to change the number of nodes. I use the command like : simfactory/bin/sim submit mysimulation --parfile par/file.par --node 2 --walltime 00:30:00 simfactory/bin/sim submit mysimulation --parfile par/file.par --procs 64 --walltime 00:30:00 but neither of them change the node used from 1 to 2. Is there some possible way to change the number of nodes? Thank you. Best regards, Chia-Hui

Hello, I would like to know the actual applications of SimFactory. I am not very sure of it range of applications. Is it possible to use for material flow simulation in factory like FlexSim, Simul8? Hello S.Ramraj, that is likely not possible out of the box. Simfactory itself is just a tool to orchestrate simulations using the Cactus computational framework. Cactus itself is a generic framework aiming to simplify solving hyperbolic partial differential equations using (mostly) finite difference methods. Its main (almost exclusive) client code is the Einstein Toolkit which provides codes and other utilities to simulate astrophysical events, for example colliding black holes, neutron stars, supernova, cosmology etc. There are some users of Cactus that have used it for other simulations eg. David Rideout for Causal Set Quantum Gravity (http://cactuscode.org/about/team/drideout) and there is a project to use it to simulate the shallow water equation for Hurrican flood predictions. I am not aware myself (though that does not mean it does not exist) of an actual discrete event simulation. I would suggest sending an email explaining about the system you would like to simulate to either users(a)einsteintoolkit.org or users(a)cactuscode.org to see if there is anyone who can provide insight. evolving a BH hole with Kerr-Schild ID in ET

Hello all, I am wondering if it is possible to take initial data for a single (maybe spinning) black whole in Kerr-Schild coordinates as provided by Exact or EinsteinExact (metric, curvature, lapse, shift, time derivatives of lapse and shift) and chose parameters for the "usual" 1+log and Gamma driver gauge evolution conditions so that this data is a stationary solution of the evolution equations? European Einstein Toolkit School and Workshop, September 2019, London

Dear all, the next European Einstein Toolkit Workshop and School will take place from 2 - 6 September 2019 at King’s College London, UK. The meeting will offer a school on the first two days introducing new users on how to install and run the Einstein Toolkit, and useful post-processing and visualizations tools. We furthermore provide a platform for ample discussion within the Einstein Toolkit community and with our friends in the broader numerical relativity community. In the second half of the week, the workshop will highlight exciting science cases and the latest developments in numerical relativity. LoopControl failure when changing grid resolution

Hi all, I wanted to change resolution on a TOV test with the ET_2018_09 release on the ARA hpc (Local cluster at Jena FSU). I just removed one of the refinement levels from carpet and when I tried to run I got this error: exec: /home/wa65fop/CS_Wu/THC_ZM1/Cactus/arrangements/Carpet/LoopControl/src/loopcontrol.cc:260: T <unnamed>::divexact(T, T) [with T = int]: Assertion `i % j == 0' failed. I dug up the backtrace and it seems this template function is called within a routine related to ADM variables transformation. However, I did not manage to track it back to something directly resolution related. Any suggestion would be welcome! Thanks already for your help! Best regards, Andrea Endrizzi
