Hi David. I had the same problem. You can install the previous version. Follows the link. First link: https://docs.einsteintoolkit.org/et-docs/Tutorial_for_previous_release Secoudn link: https://docs.einsteintoolkit.org/et-docs/Tutorial_for_New_Users I had the same problem to install any tools, for exemplo Kranc. You can use the command below to install. wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/gridaphobe/CRL/raw/ET_2011_10/GetComponents chmod 755 GetComponents ./GetComponents -a http://svn.einsteintoolkit.org/manifest/branches/ET_2011_10/einsteintoolkit… mkdir scratch/simulations cd Cactus cp simfactory/etc/defs.local.ini.simple simfactory/etc/defs.local.ini nano simfactory/etc/defs.local.ini Edit defs.local.ini and replace YOUR_LOGIN with your username on Queen Bee YOUR(a)EMAIL.ADDRESS with your usual email address YOUR_ALLOCATION with your project allocation on Queen Bee YOUR_THORNLIST with manifest/einsteintoolkit.th You have make the resgister in the Queen Bee to get the example. LInk:http://einsteintoolkit.org/documentation/request After all you have execute the command below. ./simfactory/bin/sim build Thats all. 2012/10/4 <users-request(a)einsteintoolkit.org> > Send Users mailing list submissions to > users(a)einsteintoolkit.org > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://lists.einsteintoolkit.org/mailman/listinfo/users > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > users-request(a)einsteintoolkit.org > > You can reach the person managing the list at > users-owner(a)einsteintoolkit.org > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Users digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. ADMMass thorn gives a weird numbers with mesh refinement.
by Petr Tsatsin 04 Oct '12

04 Oct '12

Hello, I recently started using ADMMass thorn and I found out the following problem. If I use it on the unigrid set up everything works fine, however if i use mesh refinement it gives correct values at t=0 but then all the values become something like this -3.50039744772644e+244. I was wondering if anybody experience such a problem? I used standard static_tov.par for testing purposes. Thank you. -- Petr Tsatsin Graduate Student - Department of Physics Charles E. different results of runs on different machines
by ciambridge 04 Oct '12

Hello all, i have a working installation of the einstein toolkit (compilation finished with all done.) on both my imac at work and on a local cluster at the university of valencia...both are installation of the 2012_05 release... i have written thorns to read in and extrapolate RNSID-like initial data to the cartesian grid of the einstein toolkit.. the code runs on my imac, but gives NaNs and therefore segmentation faults on the cluster.. the imac version was compiled with g++-4.7 and gfortran-4.7 and the version on the cluster with ifort 12.0 (although i think that this shouldn't be an issue??) i have attached both config files for the compilations, the thornlist is the one coming with a fresh checkout, and i have just added my two thorns to it.... running on the imac, the data is read in and interpolated without errors or nans popping up... on the cluster, there seems to be a problem with the initial data, and the code crashes on segmentation faults (i have attached the logs of both an imac and cluster run) i don't know whats causing this, could the problem be caused by the different compilers on the two machines? best wishes, Vassili

EinsteinExact module
by David Andres Norena 03 Oct '12

03 Oct '12

Hello, I'm a physics graduate student at the University of Antioquia, Colombia. Currently. I'm trying to implement the Eistein Toolkit here in my Institute. Unfortunately, GetComponents fails obtaining the EinsteinExact Module arguing that there is no server access. What can be done in this situation? Any help you can give me would be highly appreciated. Cheers, David Noreña. Grupo de Física y Astrofísica Computacional, FACom. Instituto de Física. Universidad de Antioquia.

build errors related to util_Table.h and selfwritten thorns
by Vassilios Mewes 01 Oct '12

01 Oct '12

Hello, i have a problem building the Einstein toolkit (release 2012_05, but the same happened in the 2011_10 version as well).. when i include my own thorns in the .th file to build a configuration, and change the schedule files of the thorns, the file util_Table.h in /configs/config_name/bindings/include is overwritten and being blank, thus leading to compile errors of the type: build/Boundary/Boundary.c(226): error: identifier "UTIL_TABLE_FLAGS_CASE_INSENSITIVE" is undefined physbc_table_handle = Util_TableCreate(UTIL_TABLE_FLAGS_CASE_INSENSITIVE) now, this is annoying, but on my iMac i can then at least use the GUI of the finder to manually copy the file from Cactus/src/include and the compilation proceeds normally..when i however use the command line to copy the file, the compilation starts all over again and recompiles all files... so on the local cluster i am installing the toolkit on, i have to recompile the entire toolkit everytime i change my thorns, which a huge pain.. i am using the einsteintoolkit.th thornlist that came with the source code and just added the lines with my thorns in the end, is that the correct way to do it? this has been bugging my for quite a while now, but as the copying via finder semi-solved the problem, i haven't issued a ticket so far..but on the cluster this is not doable.. best wishes, Vassili

Einstein Toolkit Meeting
by Frank Loeffler 30 Sep '12

30 Sep '12

Hi Please consider joining the weekly Einstein Toolkit phone call at 10 am US central time on Mondays. As usual, you can find instructions how to join on the following web site: http://einsteintoolkit.org/community/support/ I short: the number is (+1) 225-578-4942 or (+1) 866-573-0359 and the conference id is 118682#. Besides any development issues that might have come up last week we should discuss about the fall release schedule, goals and tasks. The list at [1] is a good start for open issues, but more issues might already be reported but might miss the relevant ET_2012_11 tag. Please make sure issues that should be resolved within the new release are tagged accordingly. Last week was exceptionally quite: 5 issues have been changed and are still open and 1 has been closed. 13 Tickets are waiting for review at the moment [2]. Please also see if you can help reviewing. Simulation domain volume and reduction weight sum differ
by Jakob Hansen 25 Sep '12

Hi, Using mercurial, I get this warning during simulations : INFO (CarpetReduce): Simulation domain volume: 170368000 INFO (CarpetReduce): Reduction weight sum: 170367999.880642 WARNING level 1 in thorn CarpetReduce processor 0 host tachyon2974 (line 120 of /home01/r632kgw/jakob/CactusP/arrangements/Carpet/CarpetReduce/src/mask_test.c): -> Simulation domain volume and reduction weight sum differ Simulations seem to run okay though. What is causing this warning and is it serious or can I just ignore it? Cheers, Jakob

ET mailing lists
by Roland Haas 24 Sep '12

24 Sep '12

Hello all, in one of the recent ET phone calls it was decided to more prominently advertise the trac mailing list (since it is convenient and a large part of development discussion happens there/in the ticket comments). The ET support page http://einsteintoolkit.org/community/support/ lists the available email list, in particular the one for trac http://lists.einsteintoolkit.org/mailman/listinfo/trac where updates on trac tickets are made available. Yours, Roland -- My email is as private as my paper mail. I therefore support encrypting and signing email messages. Get my PGP key from http://keys.gnupg.net.

IBM which preliminary research shows do) * consider leaving old method in as a fallback if Cray pointers are not supported * if we want to include them in the next release, add implementation of them right now rather than waiting until shortly before the release Yours, Roland
