[Einstein Toolkit] #2058: Simfactory assumes python is python2

#2058: Simfactory assumes python is python2 ------------------------+--------------------------------------------------- Reporter: sbrandt | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: unset | Milestone: Component: SimFactory | Version: development version Keywords: | ------------------------+--------------------------------------------------- Simfactory assumes that python is python2. Until recently this seems to have been a valid assumption, but it is no longer so. The "sim" script needs to be updated to check the version of python before invoking any of the simfactory commands. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2058> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit

#2067: Tov collapse sim not working -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- Reporter: msahrling@… | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: EinsteinToolkit thorn | Version: ET_2016_05 Keywords: | -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- I'm trying to sim the core collapse example and I wonder if I have the right core collapse thorn? It runs for a while with central density increasing some 5% and then con2prim fails with NaN etc. Does anyone have a clue? #2040: EOS_Omni: piecewise polytrope support with up to 10 pieces -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- Reporter: knarf | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: EinsteinToolkit thorn | Version: development version Keywords: | -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- The following pull-request should be looked at: https://bitbucket.org/einsteintoolkit/einsteineos/pull-requests/2 /modification-for-work-phys-rev-d93-064047/diff As described there, this includes: Modification for work: Phys. Rev. D93, 064047 (2016), arXiv:1509.08804 Now it support hybrid EOS with up to ten pieces Bug corrected on allocation of teh paramter set for back- compatibility EOS_Omni: remove space Note that the diff as shown on butbucket is mis-leading. It mixes parameter names and values in ways that easily lead to misunderstandings. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2040> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit

#1999: Make TerminationTrigger listen to signals -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- Reporter: rhaas | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: optional | Milestone: Component: EinsteinToolkit thorn | Version: development version Keywords: TerminationTrigger | -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- this adds the ability to listen to signals such as the ones that some queuing systems (SLURM for example, torque/moab in theory) can send before terminating a job which can be used to implement interruptible jobs. #2066: HDF5 not detected on Fedora ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Reporter: sbrandt | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: major | Milestone: Component: Other | Version: development version Keywords: | ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ I get this output when configuring Cactus on Fedora {{{ Running configuration script for thorn HDF5: Additional requested language support: Fortran HDF5 selected, but HDF5_DIR not set. Checking pkg-config ... HDF5 not found. Checking standard paths ... HDF5 found. Finished running configuration script for thorn HDF5. }}} Normally, I circumvent this problem by using fedora.cfg which has this: {{{ HDF5_DIR=/usr/lib64/mpich HDF5_INC_DIRS = /usr/include/mpich-x86_64 HDF5_LIB_DIRS = /usr/lib64/mpich/lib HDF5_LIBS = hdf5 hdf5_hl hdf5_fortran mpi m z }}} -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2066> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit

#2054: wiki page docs.einsteintoolkit.org does not show ET logo anymore -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: rhaas | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: EinsteinToolkit website | Version: development version Keywords: wiki | -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- The ET wiki at https://docs.einsteintoolkit.org does not show the ET logo in the top left corner anymore though one can still click in the (visually empty) region where it should be to go back to the main page. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2054> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit

[Einstein Toolkit] #2063: Simfactory dependencies not explicit
by Einstein Toolkit 04 Aug '17

#2063: Simfactory dependencies not explicit -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- Reporter: fedelopezar@… | Owner: ian.hinder@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: SimFactory | Version: ET_2016_05 Keywords: python simfactory | -----------------------------------+---------------------------------------- When running the Simplified Tutorial for New Users I get the following error at configuring Simfactory: >> ./simfactory/bin/sim build --mdbkey make 'make -j1' --thornlist=manifest/einsteintoolkit.th Traceback (most recent call last): File "./simfactory/bin/../lib/sim.py", line 39, in <module> import libutil File "/home/fede/Documents/ET/Cactus/repos/simfactory2/lib/libutil.py", line 44 print "could not create logging directory \"%s\", %s" % (log_dir, e) ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax The problem turned to be that I have Python3 as default, and Simfactory will only work with Python2. I got Python3 when installing Jupyter Notebook. I got help from Jonah Miller, and came with the solution: >> conda create --name python2 python=2 anaconda mpich2 >> source activate python2 The tutorial may needs to specify that you need python2. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2063> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit

[Einstein Toolkit] #2065: Add a Debian-style 'popularity contest' to the ET
by Einstein Toolkit 04 Aug '17

#2065: Add a Debian-style 'popularity contest' to the ET -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Reporter: hinder | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: Component: Other | Version: development version Keywords: | -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- To help understand how many people are using the toolkit, we could add an option to the build process (or simfactory setup?) which asks, one time, if a message can be sent to an ET server to track the number of users. Optionally, the user might offer to provide more info, such as what they are using the toolkit for. Suggested at ET workshop, August 2017. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/2065> Einstein Toolkit <http://einsteintoolkit.org> The Einstein Toolkit
