Segmentation Fault with CarpetReduce
by Garrison, David 28 Apr '22

28 Apr '22

Hello, Whenever I set the number of ghost zones to 1, I get segmentation faults from my reduction operations. This wasn’t an issue with Pugh or when I use 2 or more ghost zones with Carpet. Has anyone else had this problem? -DG -- David Garrison, Ph.D. Interim Associate Dean for the College of Science and Engineering, Professor and Founding Chair of Physics University of Houston-Clear Lake Bayou 3611/STEM 2252 Houston, TX 77058 BAYOU: 281-283-3717 STEM : 281-283-3796 https://www.uhcl.edu/science-engineering/faculty/garrison-david http://www.uhcl.edu/physics "If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?" — Albert Einstein.

Number of processors and ppn used
by Nisa Amir 31 Mar '22

31 Mar '22

Hello all, When I submit my simulation %%bash # start simulation segment ./simfactory/bin/sim submit NH --cores=1 --ppn-used=8 --walltime=0:2:00 Also tried this %%bash ./simfactory/bin/sim submit NH --cores=2 --num-threads=1 --walltime=0:20:00 again it gives the same warning it gives the warning that Total number of threads and number of cores per node are inconsistent: procs=1, ppn-used=8 (procs must be an integer multiple of ppn-used) and after that when i run the parameter file it does not run completely and shows only half or more than half output. How can I resolve this issue so that I get the complete output.

Einstein Toolkit GPU support
by Santiago Jaraba 29 Mar '22

29 Mar '22

Hi all, I would like to know whether it is currently possible to run the Einstein Toolkit in a GPU-only cluster, since my group is planning to apply for a cluster like this. In particular, I would like to know if I would be able to run a BBH simulation like the example in the gallery. I know there was this question in http://lists.einsteintoolkit.org/pipermail/users/2020-July/007508.html some time ago, focused on the development of CarpetX, but I'm not sure what's the current status or if this means that simulations using Carpet wouldn't run on a GPU. Thanks in advance! Santiago
