tov collapse

Hello, I'd like to test TOV collapse and I'm using the parameter file from the ET paper 2011 (tov_collapse_vc_l3.par). There are couple of thorns missing like Corecollapsecontrol and CartesianCoordinates? Could you please provide this thorns? Also I was wondering if that parameter file will work with ET_2012_05 release since this parameter file was tested on previous version? Missing Thorns for tov_collapse_vc_l3.par
by Evans, Christopher W 18 Oct '12

18 Oct '12

I have recently been attempting to run the included tov_collapse_vc_l3 parameter file, but I noticed that the corecollapsecontrol and CartesianCooridinates thorns are missing from the current thornlist. Is there a current implementation of these thorns that I am missing, or has this parameter file become deprecated? Thank you for your time, Chris Evans

This is with 32bit Version Ubuntu: "Linux version 3.2.0-29-generic-pae (buildd@roseapple) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) ) #46-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 27 17:25:43 UTC 2012". Tanja and Bruno use Ubuntu an report not problems. Eloisa observed the same error with fedora.cfg. Ticket https://trac.einsteintoolkit.org/ticket/1122 contains the details. * will try and add Excision mask support using Cray pointers as a test case for Cray pointers before switching CCTK_ARGUMENTS to Cray pointers (not this release) * Bruno will provide MHD test cases based on the cylindrical explosion and/or shocktube tests. Reduced in size to run in seconds. Yours, Roland

Einstein Toolkit Meeting

Hi Please consider joining the weekly Einstein Toolkit phone call at 10 am US central time on Mondays. As usual, you can find instructions how to join on the following web site: http://einsteintoolkit.org/community/support/ I short: the number is (+1) 225-578-4942 or (+1) 866-573-0359 and the conference id is 118682#. We will, as always, talk about any development issues that might have come up last week. Besides that we will shortly talk about issues that needs attention for the next release to be happening beginning of November - in about one month. The list at [1] is a good start for open issues, but more issues might already be reported but might miss the relevant ET_2012_11 tag. Please make sure issues that should be resolved within the new release are tagged accordingly. Last week was relatively quite: 9 issues have been changed and are still open and none have been closed. 15 Tickets are waiting for review at the moment [2]. Please also see if you can help reviewing. Hotel information for the October Einstein Toolkit Meeting
by Joshua Faber 10 Oct '12

10 Oct '12

Hi everyone, Just a reminder that the hotel for the upcoming workshop on October 22-26 (website https://docs.einsteintoolkit.org/et-docs/ET_Workshop_Fall_2012) will be the Radisson Hotel Rochester Airport, which is located right next to campus. http://www.radisson.com/rochester-hotel-ny-14623/nyrochrd Unfortunately, the online reservation does not recognize the reservation code we have set up, "einstein toolkit", so you'll need to call them at 1 (800) 967-9033 to make a reservation. They work with RIT frequently, and in case you forgot the code when making a reservation we can get that handled before the meeting. If people could send me an email confirming their attendance, it will help to get the schedule orgainzed around the workshop schedule. Thanks, and we hope to see you soon. Cheers, Josh Faber
